I don't see anything unusual in your emerge info, so you should take Teseus2's advice and try another kernel. What did your friend do, and what difference did it make?

i'd better try new ati drivers

i've tryed new drivers
it installed normally
but quake 2 don't work normally
glxgears shows 200 FPS
what's ......
