Quite a strange problem. I can start say ion3, and run epiphany and gconf from it, but not totem or nautilus.
They just hang for literally 10-20 minutes before starting. As soon as I click on a folder, they hang again for a further 5 or so minutes.
Gnome also shows the splash screen and hangs on boot for 20-30 minutes.
I already added 192.168.0.2 multimedia to /etc/hosts, that didnt change anything. What I think it is, is I used the ipv6 use flag, but removed it now and the ipv6 stuff from /etc/hosts - didnt help
I'm also on reiser4 if thats any help.
Any ideas what could be the problem?
EDIT: same as root, just hangs when it reaches splash screen.

Oh, 1 thing I forgot to mention is I have stable glibc compiled with the nptl use flag. I've had it compiled with nptl on previous installation also though, never caused problems. |
