Hi
I finally got my NVIDIA drivers working, except if I load the GLX module in xorg.conf X.org crashes back to console. If I remove the LoadModule "glx" line then X loads perfectly.

My kernel does not have AGPGART or a framebuffer compiled in. The drivers worked fine on Fedora Core. |

Did you emerge nvidia-glx?
If so you can force opengl-update to use the nvidia one...

Remove the dri module loading.
nvAGP "4" -> I thought valid values are 1 to 3
Re emerge nvidia-glx and opengl-update nvidia.
(Always make sure same gcc and headers are used for kernel, and nvidia) |

| my solution is to remerge the nvidia kernel and glx drivers withought support for dlloader (use flags in make.conf, add '-dlloader') |
