OK, question, I installed postfix, and all the other fun stuff, from the current gentoo guide on email. So I can connect using imap, but
A) cannont download my emails into the outlook inbox. Is this because on the server under my username there is not an inbox? if so where do I create it.
B) I would prefer to make a pop3 connection, but it seems as though it has issues with the username and password.
oh, using courier-imap with ssl
and courier-pop3d also with ssl
ANy help, I can totally post my confs, if you want.
thanks |

A) Does it work with other mail client (thunderbird). If it does, are there errors in the server mail log when you conect with outlook?
B) look in the server log. _________________ Gentoo users' map |

look in /var/log/ . If you want, click on the link in my sig to join gentoo-netmail irc channel. It would be easier/faster to help you that way. _________________ Gentoo users' map |

ok, sorry, I have been gone for the weekend, so totally followed the virtual mail gentoo setup, but I am unable to send mail to the virtual domain users, such as mutt -x temp@virtualdomain.com,
although if I use a local user and send mail to this user on the running domain it works..... mutt -x root@localdomain.com, I added all of the appropriate entries in the mysql tables, and check the /var/log/messages and it tells me when they are sent, but I haven't found and error logs when they are not, is there anything else I should check????
thanks |
