hello,

i've just emerged xorg-x11 and fvwm after a fresh install of gentoo , did xorgconfig , typed startx , and now i get a black screen and nothing happens, it just crashes , i have to reboot my computer again.i've tried different resolutions but that didnt help either , im just using VESA atm cuz im inside vmware :$ , can anyone help me on this ?

any effort is greatly appreciated.

Please post /var/log/Xorg.0.log
You might want to go through it a bit and pick out the error spots so you don't have to post the whole thing since it will be huge.

Also post your xorg.conf.

well i have no errors , but im using this xorg config now and it works.

http://bog.webhop.net/vmware/xorg.conf.txt

Well, guess that's one way around it. Saves a lot of troubleshooting.
