I downloaded flash from the macromedia site, when i run it I get:
Quote: | Please enter the installation path of the Mozilla, Netscape,
or Opera browser (i.e., /usr/lib/mozilla): |
I have phoenix installed to /usr/share/phoenix but when i eneter it in i get:
Quote: | WARNING: Please enter a valid installation path. |
BAH HUMBUG!!
how else can i get flash in phoenix without reinstaling it to /usr/lib/phoenix ?
Cheers![/code] |

check if there's a /usr/lib/pheonix (usually there should be). at least the plugins should be installed there. _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. After all, you got nothing to lose.

oh, erm well... yes. sorry, i just... uh
anyway. you should consider to reemerge it. in wonder how you installed the binary into a different dir, than the default. did you edit the ebuild?
i've done nothing special but emerge phoenix-bin and then... well emerged the flashplayer. i'm not sure why you would like to do this by hand? why not emerge the flashplayer? _________________ If you fall off a cliff, you might as well try to fly. After all, you got nothing to lose.

that one:
net-www/netscape-flash
(it's the latest Flash player from the people that make Flash..if you are worried about the GPL then go for one of the others, although I don't know how well they play Flash 5 or 6) , then if it doesn't install into the correct dir, just cp or symlink the flashplayer.xpt and libflashplayer.so into your phoenix/plugins dir |
