Hi,

Does anybody know if the Creative SB Audigy 2 ZS Notebook runs in Linux? Does it support Hardwaremixing in Linux, and are the extended features like EAX (with games running with cedega) and surround (with DVDs and mplayer) usable?

Thank you!

Gregor

I do have the card inside right now.

The card does exist and pcmcia-cs knows it's there. The module doesn't fail to load.

You are using both soundcards. Have you tried using only the PCMCIA? Just to kill errorsources...

But I don't alsa supports this card so far. I'll ask around on the alsa hp and report the results here.

Got the following reply:

No support yet. I need someone to donate a card to me, so that I can
reverse engineer it.

The card costs about 110 Euro in Germany. If there were some more people willing to donate some money for jcdutton, i would spend ca. 20-30 Euro.

Heh, I might consider going in some or more than that if I knew how much that was in USD. If 30 Euro is $40 then I'll go 30. I'm willing.

Hi,

I have jcdutton's email adress, if you give me yours, i'll send it to you. I don't want to post it in the forum. You can also find him in #alsa@irc.freenode.org. He will give you his bank data.
In his country, the card costs 90 Pounds, and someone else donated already 10 Pounds. Maybe if he got ~40-50 Pounds from us, he will spend the rest (i hope so)

The card is supported in the meantime by the latest alsa-drivers (1.0.11_rc5 with emu10k1) - although I do not know whether it supports all the features asked by the OP since I only use it for simple DJing ...
