I'm in local network, use Gentoo 2004.3 Universal CD, Internet use throught vpn, in WinXp all ok, in linux i has message
Remote .... require authrnticate itself....Could not find any suitable secret (passowrd)
my configs:

user@home$ cat /etc/ppp/peers/provider
file /etc/ppp/options.pptp
pty "pptp ppp.vpnserver.com --nolaunchpppd"
name UsErNaMe
remotename ppp.vpnserver.com
ipparam provider
unit 0
linkname provider

user@home$ cat /etc/ppp/options.pptp

user@home$ cat /etc/ppp/chap-secrets
UsErNaMe ppp.vpnserver.com PaSsWoRd *

for connect:
user@home$ pon provider

for disconnect:
user@home$ poff provider

at first i'm try to use ppp-2.4.1-r14.ebuild, but it hasn't mppe-mppc patch (as i see in ebuild)
so i ummask ppp-2.4.2-r6.ebuild and in my make.conf now is
USE="sse qt opengl nls mmx kde mppe-mppc dhcp -gtk -gtk2 -gnome X"

it's very big trouble... linux whithout internet, cat sombody help me?
