Hi there,
I have my ldap server setup to use sasl with DIGEST-MD5 authentication. Sasl is configured to use ldap to look up the passwords. I can run all ldap tool/utils successfully. I can log in to different machines as an ldap user. I have tried to set up cyrus imap to use saslauthd for authentication as well hence only having to maintain users in one place.
I have done the following
1) Added the sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd - to imap.conf
2) Added the sasl_ldap_servers etc directives to imap.conf
3) I changed the pwcheck_method in /etc/sasl2/smtpd.conf to saslauthd
4) I created a saslauthd.conf file in /etc as some post mention it. The file contains the same directives as in the imap.conf file i.e. ldap_servers,ldap_bind_dn, ldap_bind_pw etc
5) I edited the /etc/conf/saslauthd file to use the "-a ldap" option.
When I run imtest -u user -m DIGEST-MD5 it appears that no communication happens with the ldap server. It seems to still be looking at the sasldb for user authentication. Anyone know what I need to change to get cyrus imap to use ldap authentication?
