Hi I have emerged the latest stable gnome 2.8. Now I've also emerged some games & software like savirc, bomberclone, frozen-bubble and want to add them into the menu system. After studying the manual I found the not so obvious applications:///, this is really a non-user-friendly solution... Whats wrong with drag-and-drop Well anyway, as I try to follow the instructions and drag the game to applications:///Games I get: Quote: | Error "Invalid URI" while copying "/usr/games...zen-bubble". |
I have also tried "Creating a launcher" which works a little better... although I can't understand why gnome doesn't update, it seems that I need to restart gnome for the applications to show. |

When you add a new item in the gnome menu, the menu needs restart to show it. It can be done via logout-login or better open a terminal and type " killall gnome-panel " |
