I keep running into a ftp problem

i can't download larger files then 2048mb
to download a dvd iso, this can be a real problem
now, you are going to say, well use gftp os something like that, well i want to let my server (he is after all the only computer running 24hours a day) do the download
can anyone tell me how to fix this limit?? |

The 2Gb limit suggests that the client and/or the server do not have large file support enabled. You may have to hack up the ebuilds for your client and server programs to turn this option on. Usually this is --enable-largefile or similar. You may need to extract the package and do a ./configure --help to find the exact option name. Once you've done this, re-emerge the programs and make sure you restart the ftpd daemon if you rebuild this. |
