Will it be in portage soon?
I have the strange feeling that the jre i emerged is a little buggy..
or shall i just install JRE from source downloaded on java.com?

The 1.5 JRE and JDK have been in portage for the last 3 months at least.

Update 2 for JRE 1.5 is not in portage...
I'm having a lot of trouble right now because I cannot seem to find the 1.5.0.01 version of the bin file on the java site  does anyone know a way to install the latest update jre?

It's strange that they make it so hard to find the older versions on thier site.... you'd think there would be a link to the older versions....
oh well...... to to get downloading

and you may need to arch unmask it too in your /etc/portage/package.keywords: | Code: | | =dev-java/sun-jre-bin-1.5.0.02 ~x86 |
