Hello,
I just continued with my stage1 install. Yesterday I stopped at the end of the installation manual and today
I made
and
And as I watched the "configure/make/make install" outputs fly by on my monitor
I saw that gentoo emerged some qt and kde stuff such as: qt and some kdelibs-things.
(If you want I can look further in the distfiles dir to tell you more precisely what he emerged.)
The problem(question) I have is:
Why did he emerge the qt and kde stuff although I set
my USE flag as in the installation manual to
Code: | USE="-qt -kde gtk gnome alsa dvd cdr" |
To what should I set my USE variable so that at the next
stage1 installation he only emerges gnome stuff?
Thanks |

This is obviously not a Gnome problem. Qt and kdelibs are installed in your system just because you emerged some package that needed them. Maybe k3b, amarok??. -kde -qt USE flags dont prevent qt and kdelibs from being installed if you emerge some package that depends on them (not that only build some kde stuff optionally). Find the package using kdelibs and you've got the root of the problem |
