Dopo aver emerso xine e quando lo lancio, ho questo tipo di errore :
# xine
This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.9.23.
(c) 2000-2003 The xine Team.
main: all available video drivers failed.
la cosa strana e che ho installati correttamente i video drivers ( /usr/lib/xine/plugins/ ). 
peraltro ho anche tentato con :
# xine -V <drv> (aadxr3 vidixfb fb) .... ma nulla e per togliermi la sete con il prosciutto ho installato Ogle ... che funziona correttamente.
cosa mi sfugge ........

prova ad installare questa versione

Installato .... ma non cambia nulla :

Ora quando lancio xine ho questo :

la gui fa un bel flash ...... eppoi niente ; ma se parto con xine -V none starta correttamente ma sento solo l'audio ..........

FINALMENTE ho Risolto con :
ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" USE="X" emerge media-libs/xine-lib
e
opengl come video driver settato su xine.
