Hi guys,
Since I first had my AMD64 desktop, it always detected 64 MB of ram and the actual ram was 128MB. During startup, the BIOS screen displays 128MB, but when starting X and viewing the Xorg.log file, only 64MB is being detected.
I tried forcing video memory to 128MB by specifying it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf, but that did not work. I am using 2.6.9-r14 and devfs.
I was looking at nvidia's site for relevant information, and found something that I am having problems with too:
I also have issues when reverting from X11 to console, the card does not shutoff, but outputs a black screen. It does goto console though, because I can login and shutdown/reboot the computer (blind login). The problem on their website corresponds to TV output, not standard SVGA output. Anyways, they recommend building the Xserver with X int10 module to save and restore console state.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
