Which kernel do you have ? Is Udev enabled ? Do the modules see your controlers (dmesg) ? Did you build your kernel with genkernel (and which version of this tool) ?
Why do you say the controlers don't work ?
I have the same controlers, and they work perfectly.
Another thing : what does the system say when you try to load those modules ? (dmesg) |

The problem was lspci should have been this

after fiddling with the pci card, i got to work.
problem solved.
