If you burn the live cd to a dvd, will it work?? [solved]

All I have at the moment are a bunch of blank dvd's. I burnt the live cd to one of them, and it didnt work. Im tryn to get it workn on a mac, and as far as I can tell, it should have worked. Was my inital error in the fact that I burnt it to a dvd? If not, why is linux not poppn up from the live cd?? Thanks.

not sure but have you tried mounting the iso as a loopback and burning the data rather than the image

ok this was too easy, i should have looked harder. The dvd is fine (thats interesting to me at least), all I had to do was hold c to make it boot off the cd. That is news to me; havent been using my mac for long enough time to know that yet. Anyways, thanks for the help.
