I'm not sure what forum this should go under, so I posted here.
Anyways, I was looking through my cron logs after I decided to set a crontab up, and I see this:
Code: | Feb 17 04:00:02 [/usr/sbin/cron] (root) CMD (/usr/bin/emerge sync)
Feb 17 04:04:56 [/usr/sbin/cron] (root) MAIL (mailed 1552 bytes of output but go
t status 0x0001_)
Feb 17 04:30:01 [/usr/sbin/cron] (root) CMD (/usr/bin/updatedb) |
Now I set up the emerge and the updatedb, but I"m curious to what the MAIL thing is, because I didn't set up anything to do with mail.
Thanks. |

crontabs will mail the out of the cron job to the owner of the crontab (unless told not to do so)... I am guessing that the failure happens with your mail system, but need more information... _________________ All reality is the construct of the observer.
