My WD400JB is spinning down on it's own in the middle of things and it's breaking my system. It will stay spun as long as it's not doing anything heavy. Is there some setting I can give it through hdparm (or another program) to nudge into keeping spinning? I looked on WD's site and there's no jumper to force the disk to spin when there's power that's documented. |

try forcing it to work with dma off.
Code: | hdparm -d0 /dev/hdx |
may make it work slow enought so you'll be able to rescue things from it. |
