ATI 9800 drivers

Hi,

I'm new @ linux and I'm runningn gentoo. Now my problem is that i have a ATI radeon 9800 Pro full 3d card wich I can't install. I haven't even started to install because I don't know where to start. The only thing I know is that I also have to configure my xorg.conf. but how...
Can anyone plz help me from the beginning of the install?
