strange apparitions after upgrading to 2.6.11-r4

Good evening ladies & gentlemen.

Some strange things are happening to my screen when I log out of KDE, and it started happening once I upgraded to kernel-2.6.11-gentoo-r4.

When I boot my computer, everything is fine. The screen loads up in framebuffer mode to 1024x768-32@60, everything looks good, and I'm presented with a login screen.

So naturally, i run good old `startx` and KDE starts.

The problems start when I log out of KDE. All I see are these green blocks, 1 character wide each, scattered throughout the bottom half of my screen. Their positions change when I run a command that changes the output on the screen. Say I run `su; halt;`. Their positions change as the output is being dumped to the screen during the shutdown sequence.

Anybody else have this problem?
