I am trying to get my usb card reader to work under gentoo. It works on my Mandrake box so I know it is compatible. I have the following loaded:
usb-storage 20540 0 (unused)
sg 24356 1
sd_mod 10460 0 (autoclean) (unused)
sr_mod 11576 0 (autoclean)
cdrom 29696 0 (autoclean) [sr_mod]
vfat 10300 0
fat 31224 0 [vfat]
usb-uhci 20932 0 (unused)
ide-scsi 7360 1
scsi_mod 80824 4 [usb-storage sg sd_mod sr_mod ide-scsi]
NVdriver 1065408 10
cs4232 3616 1
ad1848 20704 0 [cs4232]
uart401 6080 0 [cs4232]
sound 53004 1 [cs4232 ad1848 uart401]
3c59x 24296 1
usbcore 54464 1 [usb-storage usb-uhci]
All of the scsi support and usb support is in according to the various posts.
Hotplug is installed.
The is no sd? in /dev
Any help greatly appreciated.

I've had a usb-zip, and the device was only available when i inserted the zip and rebooted.
If that's the case, you will add an entry in devsd.conf to assigne the device.
cdrecord --scanbus could be helpfull. |
