Sound is working great on my new Toshiba laptop w/ intel sound chipset.
Only problem is, when I insert an audio CD into my CD drive and try to play it in XMMS (or any other app), XMMS plays the tracks, but I am getting no output to my speakers or headphones. i checked to make sure that "CD" volume was was up in alsa-mixer. whats up with this? |

Hello shruggy1987,
You know, if you were using a desktop computer, I'd immediately guess that your CDROM's audio cable was not plugged into the motherboard. I don't use a laptop, so let me just ask you if there's anything similar that could be the case: Can you look inside and see if there's a loose cable on either the mobo or the CDROM? (Just throwing this out as a possibility.)
Best regards |
