|

Okay, I'm having some trouble connecting when I boot my newly installed Gentoo. When Gentoo boots up and tries to get my internet going it always says that there was a "Problem starting the required services. "netmount" was not started" even though my network configuration is fine for DHCP and I have DHCPCD installed. My ethernet card is a Realtek 8029 card, which is older than anything I see in the kernel. Is there anyway I can get this working?
EDIT: On a further note, ifconfig eth0 is returning that the device doesn't exist. I have all the Realtek modules compiled into my kernel, but if I have to modprobe something, what would the one for the RTL-8029 card be called?
EDIT2: Problem solved, I got some help on IRC. This older Realtek model didn't even use a Realtek module, it used the ne2k-pci module. |
