Hi,
I have this following error:
make[1]***[configure_target_libstdc++-v3] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving Directory '/var/tmp/portage/gcc-3.4.3.20050110/work/build
make: ***[profilebootstrap] Error2
!!! ERROR: sys-devel/gcc-3.4.3.20050110 failed
Function gcc_do_make, line 1113, exitcode 2
make failed with profilebootstrap
I made my test with :
- install-amd64-universal-2004.0
- stage1-amd64-2004.3
- portage-20041022
- portage-20050219
- portage-20050213
I can not use something else than the 2004.0 for the installation of my gentoo, with other version, i have trouble with the tg3 driver.
I try with different version of portage, same trouble.
My make.conf :
CFLAGS="-march=athlon64 -02 -pipe"
CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu"
MAKEOPTS="-j2"
I am working on it for three days now, no solution.
Any help will be appreciaed.
Thx |

You're trying to compile a 2004.3 system on a 2004.0 boot disk.
I would first try to download the 2004.3 image and try again. The instructions in the current manual are targeted at the 2004.3 release. If you still get the same errors, let us know. _________________ -- Coplan

Same problem here. The 2004.3 livecd doesn't let me, you know, use my harddrive and stuff. (b0rked SATA drivers) |

Might be a shot in the dark, but have you guys tried booting 2004.3 with noapic e.g.
I had to do this in order to use LiveCD for stage1 install.

well, it loads fine. bootscreen is 2004.3 (as you must know). there aren't any stages on the cd either, so i guess we'll have to install based on 2004.3. then up to 2005.0 profile and reemergee world?
edit -- Stages are on kugelfang's devspace at: http://dev.gentoo.org/~kugelfang/stages/

forget abou tit... the mountpoint /lib/firmware fails to mount every time. i'm getting DMA issues often or worse (won't even complete the init scripts). basically, as far as i can tell the iso is unusable for my system. i'm using a normal eide HD that has never given me problems before
For now, as I'll recommenced a fresh install with an older livecd and use your stage1 for the bootstrap. |

Many thanks, I was about to give up installing my test server on a MSI K8N-Neo2, 2004.2 was not able to use the LAN, and 2004.3r1 was not able to get the 3w_xxxx module loaded ... you saved my life !
So far the bootstarping is doing good, I will report sucess/failure at the given adress. _________________ Unix is user friendly - it's just selective about who its friends are ! |

So bootstrap ok, but :
I start to install some package on my new Gentoo 64.
I install fluxbox, so for dependency pb, it have to install xorg too, no problem, but, after a long time of compilation, i have this error:
/usr/lib/portage/bin/ebuild.sh : No suche file or directory
I do not have any /lib in /usr ... only /lib32 and /lib64 why is it looking for /lib ..... ebuild.sh is in /usr/lib64/portage/bin ...
Samething for emerge, is looking it in the wrong PATH.
What to do ?
Thx
ps: i am using http://dev.gentoo.org/~kugelfang/livecd/ |
