I don't know what I'm doing wrong. When I try to startx, I get nvidia errors.
Code:
(EE) NVIDIA (0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel module!
(EE) NVIDIA (0):  ***Aborting***
(EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

Fatal server error:
no screens found

In dmesg it says:
Code:
nvidia: module license 'NVIDIA' taints kernel.
nvidia: Unknown symbol __VMALLOC_RESERVE

Anyone have an idea what I need to do to fix this?

I'm using kernel 2.6.9-gentoo-r1. I'm not sure which nvidia kernel package I'm using. It's whatever one downloaded whenever I emerged it. And as far as 4kstacks goes, I've only poked around in the kernel a little. I used genkernel to set it up. I'll look for it though.
Thanks

Well, while I was messing around trying to figure out what the problem was, I found out that I had an older version of xorg. So, I downloaded the new one and have the same problem. But now, it says "no devices found", instead of what I said earlier. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. BTW, it's not 4kstacks in the kernel, as was already suggested. Is it supposed to be? I seem to remember seeing somewhere that it's not.
Thanks
