Hi,
Since emerging firefox1.0 on my amd64-box with xorg6.8.2/kde3.3.2, I have problems with my keymap.
I use a azerty-be keyboard (ps/2 logitech w/multimediakeys). Before emerging firefox all was fine.
Problem description: AltGr-key doesn't work anymore after normal startup (kdm in default runlever): e.g., typing '@' requires AltGr-'é' ('é' corresponds to qwerty-us '2').
KDE-apps return the unmodified symbol and firefox returns nothing.
Using
~$ setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout be -variant iso-alternate
gets things working perfectly.
I would like to have this behavior at startup (evidently).
Additional relevant-seeming info (from KDE/X11-log):
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
> Warning: Multiple symbols for level 4/group 1 on key <LSGT>
> Using backslash, ignoring brokenbar
> Warning: Symbol map for key <LSGT> redefined
> Using last definition for conflicting fields
Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server
Bye,
Erik |

Resolved by re-emerging X.org. |
