|
|
So i recently made a major hardware upgrade and now am using an nVidia PCI-Express graphics card. I kind of didn't have any problems making it work, so this is what worries me.
Is there anything i was supposed to enable? (Are there PCI-E equivalents to AGP options like Fast-Writes, for example?)
And on the other side, what can i remove to get AGP support off my system?
Thanks in advance. _________________ noup.

Is it working? Good. Then don't worry. _________________ Gentoo: Stage3 w/ NPTL & udev, gcc 3.4.4 full rebuild

Sorry, but that sounds totally against the gentoo spirit! Where is the "optimization" part? _________________ noup. |

Look for things in /proc/driver/nvidia/* ....that usually tells you if some feature is present and if it is enabled or not.
If there is nothing there, then I would not worry....as it is probably the case that the drivers can not change anything.
As for the PCI-E bus itself -- the changes for it are probably in the BIOS. I would look there for tweaks. |

This doesn't have anything relevant, other than displaying the card information.

Thanks for the tip, there do seem to exist quite some options related to PCI-Express. I'm gonna find out what they mean then. _________________ noup. |
