So i recently made a major hardware upgrade and now am using an nVidia PCI-Express graphics card. I kind of didn't have any problems making it work, so this is what worries me.
Is there anything i was supposed to enable? (Are there PCI-E equivalents to AGP options like Fast-Writes, for example?)
And on the other side, what can i remove to get AGP support off my system?

Thanks in advance. :)

Is it working? Good. Then don't worry.

Sorry, but that sounds totally against the gentoo spirit! Where is the "optimization" part? :D

Look for things in /proc/driver/nvidia/* ....that usually tells you if some feature is present and if it is enabled or not.
If there is nothing there, then I would not worry....as it is probably the case that the drivers can not change anything.

As for the PCI-E bus itself -- the changes for it are probably in the BIOS. I would look there for tweaks.

This doesn't have anything relevant, other than displaying the card information.

Thanks for the tip, there do seem to exist quite some options related to PCI-Express. I'm gonna find out what they mean then. :)
