|
|
I've got a Linksys WPC54G router/PCMCIA card that I'm trying to get working. And it is, for a time. After booting, the connection works automagically for a while, until the computer will freeze up for a few seconds (audio stops, mouse stops, the whole bit). Then the machine gets running again, but no wireless. What's more, /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 restart fails on DHCP.
So I checked dmesg. I find the following right after the "partial hang":
Code: | ndiswrapper (hangcheck_proc:314): wlan0 is being reset
ndiswrapper (NdisWriteErrorLogEntry:266): log: C000138A, count: 1 (00000504), return address: f94705f7, entry: f948b000 offset: -109065
NdisMRemoveMiniport --UNIMPLEMENTED--

Some other (hopefully) relevant info:
Code: | #ndiswrapper -l
Installed ndis drivers:
wlipnds driver present, hardware present
|
Code: | #lspci

Also, encryption is off, ESSID is being broadcast, I'm running on channel 1, and I'm not having the same problem in Windows (it runs for hours there). The duration in Linux is more like 10-15 min.
Anyone have any ideas what's going on? |

Well, aparently it doesn't always spew that text to dmesg when the connection dies. So much for that. However, I have noticed that either
or
Code: | /etc/init.d/net.wlan0 restart |
are sure-fire ways to kill it. I know some people have gotten this card working, so please lend your advice
BTW, the card is rev 4. Forgot to mention that before. |
