Hello,
I am installing gentoo for the first time on my old PC. I have a network card (wireless PCI based on Broadcom BCM4306 rev3) which apparently needs to be accessed thru the package ndiswrapper.
My question relates to when in the install proceedure I can get this running. I would be very greatful if somone could point me in the right direction and tell me which of these options is the most viable.
- Do I have to do a type 3 LiveCD install, install GCC and then compile ndiswrapper ?
- Can I somhow get hold of a prebuilt ndiswrapper binary, configure and then do a stageII install ?
- Is there a ndiswrapper portage package (I haven't got this far in the install yet ) which I can use from local filesystem in a typeII install
Thanks

Hi,
you can check this site for binaries
also Gentoo's Portage link can show you a list of what's already in portage. I'm assuming if the package you need is in portage then you should just be able to emerge it. I don't think it matters which stage of gentoo you install to be able to do this. _________________ you mean you are going to remember me by what I type....here? |
