I wanted to play a file in xmms and I got this really wierd error.
Code: | xmms "Cake - Commissioning A Symphony In C.mp3"
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0xa6c1bcd6 ***
Aborted
|
Before this error happened, I installed DCOM98.exe with wine and ran this command for Cedega.
Code: | echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/legacy_va_layout |
I'm not sure if any of this will help, but I might as well post it all. I tried reemerging glibc and xmms. I had the same error after doing that. Any help is appreciated. _________________ in the immortal words of Socrates, "I drank WHAT!?!" |

I found another error like mine. I'm going to try doing an ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" emerge flac I assume thats what he means?

I'm using gcc 3.4.3-20050110 and xmms 1.2.10-r13. I updated and recompiled my world and now when it fails to start it gives a glibc error:
Code: | *** glibc detected *** free(): invalid pointer: 0x408bc996 ***
Aborted

This is the only program that doesn't work. Everything else I've built works better than it ever has in previous installs. |
This is related to the latest flac. You need to mask flac-1.1.2. |
UPDATE: The flac emerge did not work. I doubt I did it right anyways. Anyone know how to mask it? Does he mean, ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="-flac" emerge xmms _________________ in the immortal words of Socrates, "I drank WHAT!?!" |

add the package flac-1.1.2 into your list of masked packages:
Code: |
echo "=media-libs/flac-1.1.2" >> /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask
|
that is if /usr/portage is your $PORTDIR.
I then unmerged the current flac and re-emerged it. doing it now - will report if it works.
Code: |
emerge -C flac && emerge flac
|
hope that helps
