Since I have been using the Gentoo, I have found that a certain desktop of mine doesnt like the kernel provided by the LiveCD. This causes the box to segfault and kernel panic about every 3-5 hours. This can get VERY annoying if doing the infamously long stage1 -> stage3 install. It seems that if I build my own kernel, these things go away and this has been the case for the last 3 releases of LiveCD's. So, I am wondering if there is an *easy* way to switch out kernels in the LiveCD with my own custom built one?
Any ideas would be appreciated. _________________ Anime ate my computer |

First of all, i think you can choose a different kernel (from the set of ones provided) upon liveCd boot.
Other than that, isn't Catalist meant for the purpose your are asking about? _________________ noup. |
