I want to know if there are iso installation files for Sparc64 processor. I have seen there is iso for Sparc, but I don't know if it's the same for Sparc64.
Regards. |

The gentoo-sparc-1.1a image contains 64bit binaries for the ramdisk image, but i suspect that the stage-tarballz are 32bit. In any case, if you bootstrap your system from stage1 and make sure your make.conf is correct, it should all be rebuilt as 64bit binaries.
Theoretically. Maybe.
Doesn't this thread belong in the Sparc forum? _________________ --

the sparc install will work fine with a sparc64. i have done it, no probs. sparc64 runs sparc binaries just fine. i would suggest going froma stage1 install OR doing an emerge -ue world to make sure that you've got everything running for sparc64 and not sparc32. |

Right now under Linux, the kernel is the only part of the system that runs 64bit. Everything else runs and is compiled 32bit, so it wouldnt really matter if you started from Stage1 or Stage3 on a Sparc64. |
