|
|
I just noticed that I am running 4x-AGP instead of the wanted 8x-AGP. I have checked the BIOS and AGP is set to 8X. I have no clue of where to look next... Kernel?(2.6.10-r7)
My motherboard is a MSI-Master2. And then I have a ATI Radeon 9550GT.
Thnx!
/Anders

Can your card also do 8x AGP? _________________ ~~ Peter: Programmer, Mathematician, STEM & Free Software Advocate, Enlightened Agent, Transhumanist, Fedora contributor

Yes it can. Atleast it should be able to to that. And glxinfo reports the card as a 'RADEON 9600 XT Generic' so that should not be the problem.
If i do a Code: | dmesg | grep -i agp | I see that Code: | ...
AGP: Found AGPv3 capable device...
...
AGP: Putting device into 4x mode
...
Fire GL built-in AGP-support
...
|
The last line looks strange...(?)

The agp support that comes with fglrx only supports 4x mode, you will have to use the agp drivers from a recent kernel to get 8x (which is probably only a small performance boost)...
and specify this in your xorg.conf
Code: | Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "no" |

Thanks!
Code: | Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "no" |
did put the AGP-port into 8x. And you were right about the performance, it is even a bit lower now than it was with
Code: | Option "UseInternalAGPGART" "yes" |
