|
|
I'm using nautilus LAN browser to open a remote samba shared resource and all the files are accessible;
if I try to open a video file directly from the remote directory, totem report that there isn't any codec for this type of file BUT if I copy the same file locally all works well
Rhythmbox can open remote audio files without any problem
I'm using hald/dbus and gnome-volume-manager
Any ideas??? _________________ Please EU, pimp my country!

its just that totem isnt able to do it but rhythmbox is. not much way around it but to copy the file over locally.
Same way the GImp cant open remote shared files but eog can.
I think it has to do with using gnome-vfs to access the files but am not sure... |

I've tryed with gnome-vfs-2.10.0 but nothing has changed, I can copy files but I cannot open any file directly from remote server
If I mount the same remote shared directory using Code: | smbmount //a.b.c.d/shared_dir /somewhere/samba | all works well _________________ Please EU, pimp my country!

Ok, using gstreamer backend for Totem mediaplayer instead of xinelib all works well _________________ Please EU, pimp my country!
