Humm, this is a fun problem with a Via EPIA-MII motherboard.

OK, I am running a 2.6.10 kernel with only one patch “software-suspend-2.1.7-for-2.6.10.” The whole goal is to get "hibernate" to work with the onboard CF card. This is proving tricky.
I have PCMCIA and ide-cf support compiled into the kernel, but I think software suspend loads before the PCMCIA and ide-cf support loads. So when I boot, the system software-suspend complains that it can’t find the target partition for the hibernate image. This means I can’t resume from the onboard CF. Any one have any ideas?

Here is my kernel config.

I think that's a tall order -- indeed, software-suspend loads very early.

Have you tried the swsusp2 mailing lists? They might laugh at you initially, but if you want to hack some code ...

Hum, looked more closely at the output from dmesg, It looks like I have to do some code hacking. I don’t think the people from swsusp2 will laugh at me, the hard disk takes 5 seconds to spin up, and I am at swsusp2 in sub 4.
