hi
Courier-imap refuses to recieve mail from outside my lan. I can recieve it from with in and sending in and out works. The box that houses the server is behind a router with a firewall. from outside my firewall, i can telnet in at ports 110, 143 and 25.
Here is a copy of my /var/log/mail.err

it's not courier-imap, it's courier smtpd which is not working as you expect it to.

so then the firewall is not a problem. good.

i don't know courier smtpd, but you have to tell him which domains are local, i.e. for which domains relaying is allowed. in your case that's 69.3.107.91.

Thanks for telling me.
Anyway, I read the documentation of courier. In order to add adresses as relayclients, i edited the /etc/smtpaccess/default file and added a few ip adresses of known mail server. Then i ran "makesmtpaccess" as said in the documentation, but it gave me the error
