since my last update my system is somehow screwed.
everytime i want to compile something i get the following error:
| Code: | | x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc: Internal error: Segmentation fault (program as) |
looks like the program "as" is borked. the problem is, i can't even recompile binutils, the same error.
anyone know how to solve this? maybe a prebuilt package would help? but where do i get one from?

It happened to me too (and many others). Solution is somewhere on the forum.
You need to download the binary package of binutils and unpack it to your /.
Then you would be able to compile it for yourself again.
