|
|
Hi,
I have never setup a printer in linux before. I have the HP Photosmart 8450 (incase my obvious title wasn't obvious). It has a network hook up, and I can connect to the ip address when I type it in firefox. The question is what do I need to do to make this work. I am also interested in printing high quality photos from my digital camera. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea where to start, I see some hp things in portage, but I'm clueless! Thanks!

Yes, you'll want to install CUPS and the hpoj/hpijs drivers. Once you get hpoj set up, you have CUPS use the PTAL driver when you set the printer up. Post back if you run into problems. _________________ No guilt in life, no fear in death

I am also having problems with this printer, it does not accept postscript and I need to find out how to make it print for school, it will print a bunch of garbage on a peice of paper, not what I wanted to print...
basically how would I filter postscript? or convert it or something? |
