I mean an install which can be done from avg John Doe without internet and in normal time frame?
I see when gentoo is running yuo have a nice system but to get it running you need to overcome hard times |

have you tried a stage 3 install? iirc, that's a networkless install.

i had the same problem, i just ended up taking it into work and installing gentoo one evening there because of the lack of internet at home |

False! this depends on wich live-cd you're using, minimal one needs network to dowload the stage 3 image and a portage 'snapshot |
