got an odd question, i want to hook two computers up together, i have a computer im using for a server and i want to find a way to hook another computer up to it so it will have very quick data exchange between the two and use the processors in both computers to compile. i know i could use distcc, but i want to keep the second system's HD empty and use it for storage. any ideas? thanks much |

if you have NIC's in each computer use a cross-over cable or use a hub/switch and normal patch cables _________________ Do not meddle in the affairs of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger. |

No, it's not possible to connect them via IDE. But you also might want to take a look at openMosix and the high performance computing guide. |

You could use clusterKnoppix, for example. Or you could get a bigger harddrive. People throw away 20 > GB drives. |
