well i ge tthrough alot of emerge system, i get to about binutils, and out of nowhere it fails.

can anyone tell me what may be wrong, or what i should do to fix this? thanks much (very lost on this one)

do you have dual procs? I tried using -j3 for MAKEOPTS on a single proc system and ran into errors until I changed it

im using distcc to compile, i got the error with distcc first, then i tried without distcc and got the same problem =/

Sorry, I dont have any experience with distcc, but if you try to compile without distcc, you should change MAKEOPTS to "-j2"
