I have compilled a kernel from linuxgentoo-dev-sources-2.6.11. When trying to buid Nvidia kernel I'm geting this error. help...

Okay i got a working solution for me:

There's advice. Use the cumulative patch and the nvidia-installer package from www.nvidia.com as described on the page. Don't use the gentoo emerge nvidia stuff and everything should work.

| I updated to the 2.6.11 with the nvidia-kernel in portage and everything seems to be ok... I didn't need to use that patches... anyway things seems to be much better with this kernel (no lockups)... but only time will tell.. |

You was right, only what is needed - select latest nvidia module from porthole. Then all the patches will be aplied automaticaly. All works now. Thanks for all who responded! |
