I've read all the other threads, they're useless. Does somebody want to explain how to do this?

I unmasked and emerged mono-1.1.4 and then got the ~x86 gtk-sharp. SUCCESS!

Then ~x86 emerge gconf-sharp (and it's deps) and ~amd64 emerge aspell. Tomboy!
~x86 gecko-sharp, ~amd64 gmime all work for beagle.

Get the dbus patches from dbus-0.23 and move them into the files dir. Then emerge gnome-extra/beagle from the ebuild in the overlay.
I beg the developers to mark those things ~amd64 and move all the other stuff into portage... and make it a whole lot less messy.

Alright, how do I force portage to --enable-mono for gmime and dbus?
"The mono use flag is hard masked in /usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/use.mask." < Remove mono from mask. We have a compiler now.

That's right you will!

Alright, I'm proud to report it works. For root only!
Code:
brother root # eval `dbus-launch --auto-syntax`
brother root # beagled --fg --debug
INFO: Starting Beagle Daemon (version 0.0.7)
DEBUG: Command Line: /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe --debug --fg
DEBUG: Initializing D-BUS
DEBUG: Acquiring com.novell.Beagle D-BUS service
ETC...
And it works... But a user
Code:
rob@brother rob $ eval `dbus-launch --auto-syntax`
rob@brother rob $ beagled --fg --debug
INFO: Starting Beagle Daemon (version 0.0.7)
DEBUG: Command Line: /usr/lib/beagle/BeagleDaemon.exe --debug --fg
FATAL: Could not set extended attributes on a file in your home directory.  See http://www.beaglewiki.org/index.php/Enable%20Extended%20Attributes for more information.
Code:
/dev/hdb3               /               reiserfs        defaults,user_xattr     0 1
Both users are on that partition (root on /root, user on /home/user. Is there another option I need for fstab?

Nothing changed except a reboot, and now the user can.
