Hello,

I have my laptop connecting to my home network using a Wifi card and it works great except for a small annoying behaviour!

Basically, if I plug the card once the laptop is already on and booted up, the wifi will start without any prbl.
But if I leave the card in the pcmcia slot and start the computer with the card already inserted, the wifi will not show up...

Is there a way to get the wifi starting when the card is inserted before booting? but without killing the hotplug functionality :)

Thxs in advance for any tips!

Ludo

Have you looked at coldplug
Code:
# emerge coldplug

I don't use pcmcia much, but I think that may help.
