hey networking question...(pptp + lan )

hey i had tryed to install gentoo for serval times now...
but i have sum problems with the net connection..
now when i install the livecd the eth0 is automaticly configured and this is no prob..
my modem is not connected trow usb but lan...
the thing that i usualy use a script to connect and now i see that thing:

but in my script i have a bunch of commands exept of the pptp... like "host" "rout" etc.
somebody can help me plz?

What script do you use? host and route are valid commands...
