Can anyone give me some hints on getting 32bit firefox up and running? I've got the emul-linux libs installed:
Code: |
[ebuild R ] app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-compat-1.0 0 kB
[ebuild R ] app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-glibc-1.1 0 kB
[ebuild R ] app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-gtklibs-1.2 0 kB
[ebuild R ] app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-baselibs-1.2.2-r2 0 kB
|
i've emerged mozilla-firefox-bin:
Code: |
[ebuild R ] net-www/mozilla-firefox-bin-1.0.1 -gnome 0 kB
|
But when I try to run firefox I get this message:
Code: |
(firefox-bin:12327): Gdk-WARNING **: Error converting from UTF-8 to STRING: Conversion from character set 'UTF-8' to 'ISO-8859-1' is not supported
|
repeated about 40 times. I can see some firefox-bin processes, but no browser window is displayed. If I delete the ~/.mozille/firefox directory, I get a dialog to import settings, but after that the same result - some processes, no browser window. |

Try emering emul-linux-x86-xlibs if you haven't already. It may be a dependency of one of the emul-linux-x86-* libraries you've already emerged. _________________ RipOff, a CD Ripper for Linux |

That GTK-Warning happens for everyone, that is not your problem. _________________ -Kow |

Re-emerging didn't change anything. Any other things I could check? Haven't yet installed *any* plugins.. |

I have this problem too, but I haven't really bothered to try and fix it as I use opera. _________________ "I'm just picturing a bunch of anime lovers with their macs talking about how awesome anime and steve jobs is." -- tylerwylie on japanology |
