|
|
I use an au8820 chip, the problem appears after I updated to the alsa-1.0.8 (both driver in the kernel and lib), If I turn up the pcm volume from 0%, at first it's ok, the sound becomes louder and louder, but just after the volume is set to 50%, the sound will fall back to the minimun, then the sound will be load again if I keep turning it up. It feels like the pcm volume is divide to two fold, both 0% and 50% corresponding to the minimum volume, and both 49% and 100£¥ correspond to the loudest sound. does anyone here experience the same problem? |

never heard of it, but you can try to override it by setting a volume via command line.
Code: | amixer set PCM 100% unmute |

instead I tried
Code: | amixer set PCM 50% unmute |
the sound again can hardly been heard. every mixer I tried gives the same result, that's why I think it's an alsa problem, many player control the volume using pcm by default, though I can change the setting of all my player, I hope there can be a better solution |
