Is there a guide that assists migrating from vanilla-sources to gentoo-dev-sources?
I'm confident that I can emerge gentoo-dev-sources, compile it, install the bzImage... but I'm concerned about things like linux-headers, modutils. I assume those packages need attention too during the migration. There are probably others I know even less about...
Thanks for the help,
Chris |

If you run revdep-rebuild afterwards, it should correct any problems. |

Thanks for your reply.
So revdep-rebuild will install module-init-tools? Do I do this after I boot to my new kernel? How does revdep-rebuild know if I want to enable 2.4 or 2.6 modprobe?
Should I unmerge modutils? If I do, revdep-rebuild will just put it back.
I'm sure there are issues like this. I'm sure that if I don't udnerstand them, I'll get screwed over, so I'm just trying to be prepared. What other kinds of issues will I encounter?
Thanks again for yoru help,
