I've just installed gentoo-2005.0 on my new DELL inspiron 6000.
Well, during the liveCD session all works well. But when rebooting the new system nothing happends when using the laptop:s keyboard. But I have a logitech wireless keyboard connected to the usb and tht's work.

Sure it must be some setting in the kernel-config but I got no idea.

Need some help please.

i can only think you've forgotten to enable support for AT keyboards. check under "device drivers->input device support". or grep your kernel config for "KEYBOARD"
Code:
CONFIG_INPUT_KEYBOARD=y
CONFIG_KEYBOARD_ATKBD=y

I have the same problem, that didn't fix it for me... or it was actually already compiled in. mm-sources usually does this, but 2.6.11 of any flavor doesn't work...

UPDATE: Aha, I guess it's a known bug...

http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4213

The fix is to include i8042.noacpi in the boot flags..

interesting. thanks for the info. the entry you mentioned said add i8042.noacpi=1 to your kernel flags. i don't know if it makes a difference, just want to be thorough :)

i8042.noacpi is defined as a boolean option so both forms will work.
